Gambian ruler Yayah Jammeh has conceded defeat to rival Adama Barrow after the presidential polls.
Gambia’s electoral commission says
opposition candidate Adama Barrow won an upset victory in the country’s
presidential poll, beating longtime ruler Jammeh after 22-year reign.
The Independent Electoral Commission
announced on Friday that Barrow won 263,000 votes, or 45 percent of the
total, while Jammeh took 212,000 votes, about 36 percent. A third
