Wike fires senior special assistant on protocol for unknown reasons.

Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wikeon on Friday relieved Joe Akpa, his senior special assistant on protocol, of his appointment.

The governor's spokesman, Simeon Nwakaudu disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt today.

The statement did not give any reason for the action. It only said the governor wished Akpa well in his future endeavours.

Akpa is not the first member of Wike’s cabinet to be dismissed.

The governor has suspended many commissioners and permanent secretaries, and has also dismissed some aides.
