The Niger State House of Assembly has approved Medium Term fiscal Frame work (MTFF) and Medium Term Expenditure Frame work (MTEF) of N260 billion for 2017-2019.

The passage is sequel to the frameworks submitted to the house of assembly by the executive arm  for ratification in line with section 13 of the Niger state fiscal responsibility law 2010.

Adopting the the report, presented to the committee of the whole by the chairman of the finance committee, Mohammed Bashir Lokogwoma,, the house of assembly  unanimously approved the MTFF, MTEF as well as the Medium Term Sector Strategy MTSS

According to the breakdown of the expected income based on the framework in 2017, government is expected to generate N80.4billion, 2018 N83.5billon and 2019 N96.9billion from all sources of receipts of the state.

The breakdown showed that the projected income was based on oil production bench mark of 2million barrel per day at N42 dollar per barrel as receipt from the federation account.

Hon Lokogwoma, however decried the low levels of the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) drive of the state, as it was only N11.7billion per year was  projected for the state in the fiscal framework. The speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Ahmed Marafa Guni commended the committee for a thorough work and directed the Clerk Abdullahi Kalgara to forward a clean copy of the document to the governor immediately.
