According to reports in the media,
Joseph Yobo has been appointed Senior Special Assistant on Sports Development to the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike.
This development arose just after the Everton defender and his wife,
Adaeze were conferred with honorary chieftaincy titles in his home town of Ogoni land. King GNK Gininwa of Ogoniland named Yobo Mene Aborlo 1 of Ogoniland, while his wife Adaeze was named Waamene Aborlo 1 of Ogoni land.
Yobo officially hung his boots after a testimonial match was played in his honor played at the Port Harcourt stadium, with African legends like Samuel Eto’o and Jay Jay Okocha coming together to celebrate him. His former Everton coach, David Moyes was also in Nigeria to show his support to the defender who had made 101 appearances for his home country.
