The singer Prince has reportedly died at his recording studio.
Entertainment website TMZ said his body was discovered at his compound in Chanhassen, Minnesota this morning.
Carver County Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud confirmed to Fox 9 that they responded to a medical call at 9.43 am.
The sheriff’s office confirmed a death investigation at musician Prince’s Paisley Park recording studio, according to KSTP.
The singer, real name Prince Rogers Nelson was hospitalised a few days ago with flu.
Prince was rushed to hospital after his jet made an emergency landing on Friday morning.
A spokesperson later said he was
suffering from the flu prior to the performance and that the plane
landed at Moline so he could receive treatment there. Prince later flew
on and was reported to be at home.

He was aboard his private flight when he fell ill, forcing it to make an unscheduled landing in Illinois on Friday morning.
TMZ reported
that the seven-time Grammy award winning singer’s plane diverted to
Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois, to make the
emergency landing.
He had had been suffering from flu for a
number of weeks and was believed to be recovering, but took a turn for
the worse in the early hours of Friday.
