The Minister of Defence, Brigadier-General Mansur Dan-Ali (Rtd), says the military has made enormous gains towards ending the Boko Haram insurgency.
General Dan-Ali, who was speaking on Wednesday believed that the military should be able to clear the terrorist group out of the Sambisa forest within two -three months.

He commended the regional and international efforts through specialised training and intelligence sharing.

The Defence Minister acknowledged that these efforts have helped to greatly reduce the dreaded group’s activities to guerilla warfare.

He also cleared the mystery surrounding the identity of a young female suicide bomber, claiming to be from Chibok.

General Dan-Ali confirmed that she was one of the Chibok girls, but not associated with the 276 girls kidnapped from the secondary school about two years ago.

He added that the military has been trying to find the girls, stressing that it seemed they have been dispersed to different locations by the Boko Haram militants.
