The wife of Nigeria’s President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has launched her health initiative, the ‘Future Assured Initiative’ towards reducing child mortality rate in Ogun State communities.
The launching took place on Thursday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital where at least 5,000 beneficiaries benefited from the health screening initiative.
Representing Mrs Buhari at the occasion, the National Coordinator of the screening initiative, Mr Abdul Rahaman Kamal, enlisted the support of individuals and corporate organisations in developing the health sector in Nigeria.
In attendance at the event was the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, his wife, Mrs Olufunso Amosun and the daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Halima Buhari among other dignitaries.
Giving his goodwill message at the occasion, Governor Amosun restated the commitment of his administration towards affordable and qualitative health care services in Ogun State.
Considering the lean resources, he called on corporate organisations and well-meaning Nigerians to support government in attaining quality health care for all.
